Vendredi... et c'est la fin de semaine!

Today! Wow, what a Friday! Students had a chance to work on their reading projects, AND "Géo chapitre 3"! Next week, students need to remember to bring their "Dictionnaires" and "Bescherelles" to class. Monsieur Wanie had been thinking of keeping everyone in for lunch-time detentions next week until the missing "Braconniers en Afrique" book turned up, but it just doesn't make much sense... students, if you see the book, bring it back to class! Oh, and keep track of your "Géographie" books will ya!?

Passez une très bonne fin de semaine!

Jeudi! Il fait gris!

Monsieur Wanie's back! Students had a busy day, working on their "Géographie" chapter 3... Pay special attention to pages 50 and 51! It was hand-in day for the "triple-picture project", looks like most students did a really great job! Everyone also had time in class to work on their reading books and associated projects... keep on top of it! They are due December 8th!

Bad news flash: One of the reading books has disappeared... sooo students will be spending some quality time with Monsieur Wanie over the lunch hour in the coming days until it turns up!

Mercredi malade!

Soooo, Monsieur Wanie stayed home sick all day today, well, except for a quick visit to the coffee shop... I'm sure Kleenex wants to sponsor the blog now, maybe Halls and Buckley's too... Thanks for the "get better" comments! Sniffle, cough, hack... : (

Aujourd'hui c'est mardi le 25 novembre.

Students were fortunate to have time in class to work on their "Three picture Géo" assignment. The due date is pushed to Thursday (yay) because Monsieur Wanie will be absent tomorrow (booo)... Some students may have noticed the bottle of Buckley's and package of Halls on his desk! (très booo). Anyway, students were also lucky today to be invited to a presentation by the Oakwood French Department in the cafeteria. Hopefully it will motivate students to continue their education in French in high school!

C'est lundi! La dernière semaine en novembre!

Student's triangle art projects were graded and handed back today! This year, 86 and 87 presented the most awesome art ever! Great stuff! Lots of hard work and original thought went into them! I'm proud of you!

Today, students had a chance to work on their reading books and associated assignments. All three assignments are due on Monday 8th December! Try to do a little work each evening until the due date, it's easier than trying to do all three over one weekend!

Students also had time to work on their "Géo three-picture time frame" assignment...

Good winter advice: wear gloves or your hands will be cold!

Vendredi ensoleillé!

Students once again had a busy day in Monsieur Wanie's class! Everyone started reading the new reading books: "Le Chant de la Mer", "Braconniers en Afrique" and "Les Secrets Volés". The good news is that there will be assignments to complete on these books instead of tests! The bad news is that they are all due in two weeks, Monday the 8th December. Students also had a chance to work on the latest "Géo" assignment (Due Wednesday 26th November)... a drawing depicting the same place at three different times in history: 1000AD, 1500AD, Present. Passez un bon weekend! Faites attention aux voitures qui ne peuvent pas s'arreter aussi rapidement l'hiver!

Je dis que c'est jeudi...

Today students worked very hard on their "Aventure en forêt" and "L'avalanche" tests. They had two periods to finish, more time than last test! Of course, if they need more time, they can come in early tomorrow! Monsieur Wanie collected the "Géo" homework, and students had a note-taking period on the "Géographie Etudes de cas" case studies... Tough stuff for a Thursday! Most students worked really well! "À demain!"

C'est mercredi aujourd'hui!

Today students were able to read and discuss their "Aventure en forêt" and "L'avalanche" books in groups then we had some class discussion to make tomorrow's test a little easier! We took a period to go over some cool "Géo" stuff for the questions due tomorrow! Don't forget that the test will be based on the homework questions, the "Études de cas" (Case studies), and the definitions! Today was a good work-day... students even had time to evaluate how they did on the triangle projects, it's all part of getting good marks!!

C'est mardi aujourd'hui!

Students received their marked "Aventure en forêt" and "L'avalanche" tests back, most did well. The hand-in day for the triangle art projects was yesterday, and I'm thrilled to see lots, and I mean LOTS of really amazing projects! Good job kids! They'll be marked soon!

Today, we're going to be working through some Géo definitions from "Chapitre 2" to help in getting the chapter questions done for Thursday. We'll also do some more French reading, and some work on our "A bord de l'avion" folders.

Oh, and a big thanks to all who wished me a "Happy B-day". Bonus "props to the peeps" who decorated my door and baked me a pie (yummy lemon!)! That was a super thoughtful thing, thank you very much, you're all great kids!

C'est lundi! Le début d'une nouvelle semaine!

Today, the triangle art projects were due to be handed-in. (Make sure you've written your name and form on your project so I know who to give the great marks to!)

Students worked on reading their novels, either "L'avalanche" or "Aventure en forêt". Students also had the opportunity to work on their "Géographie, Chapitre 2". It's due Thursday!

It's nice and sunny outside, and we're inside : (  Lucky that we have all this fun classwork to do in Monsieur Wanie's class n'est-ce pas? ; )

Projet d'Art! Utilisez votre imagination!

ART
Today 86 and 87 have started work on a new and exciting art project! Using just white paper and some found objects, students need to create a "diorama" of a corner of a room in a house. They may choose to get together with a friend to make two adjoining rooms... make it exciting and cool! Monsieur Wanie wants to be able to show it to Monsieur Ferron and say how much effort and imagination 86 and 87 put into their work! DUE MONDAY 17th November!
