Mercredi, le soleil et le vent.

Well, today was the second day Monsieur Wanie had scheduled to take his class (in this case, 86) to see the opera "Sanctuary Song". Despite some disrespectful chatterboxes who would not quiet down during the performance, it was a decent performance. Monsieur Wanie's favourite part had to be when Sydney met up with her old friend Penny at the sanctuary...

In class today, Monsieur Wanie assigned the next chapter in "Histoire", see below.

"Histoire, Chapitre 6"
"Les sujets du roi George s'etablissent"
P154-181
VTC#1-6, 9
ATC#2 cover page
a rendre vendredi le 2 mars

And students had some time to work on it as well as do some reading of their French reading books...

Tomorrow, Monsieur Wanie will be absent but there's a busy day planned for students... Hopefully, no-one will get in trouble or cause a fuss!

Hey Mr.Wanie,
For the sustainable development work, i was just wondering if shampoo can be considered a chemical product. Thanks (:

M.Wanie does the building we choose for the geography Venn diagram have to fit into all the categories. For example if I choose a public school, it won't fit into the "bearable" category because we don't pay to go to school, so no matter what it will always require funding.
Thanks

Also, how are we supposed to find our nearest hazardous waste facility? Can you please include a link or something?
Thanks

ok :D

hey mr.wanie when you say name a new product on supermarket shelves are you talking about a food product or any product. (its number 3 from the sustainable development assignment)

Thanks Najat 8/7

Mr.Wanie I'm really sorry but can I please have an extension on the sustainable developement project because I have been really busy this week and I don't think I will be able to finish it by tomorrow.

"Question 3: Name a product that has recently arrived in supermarket selves.."

How recent does it have to be?
I was wondering if I could choose a product that was released last year, if that counts as recent.

I have no idea where my cleaning product has to be disposed... or where to look

hey mr.wanie my family doesn't use chemical products at home (because we have cats who like to lick windows and walls) so the only things that i would have to put in a hazardous waste facility would be like left over paint and old alkaline batteries do i write that?

Thanks Najat 8/7

Mr. Wanie,
How do I found out where the nearest waste facility is?? Also what does: bearable, viable and sustainable mean??
Thanks!

for the sustainable developement work. question 5: would it say on the product to put in waste facility? or do you have to find clues?
and question 4: do you have to go to the store and find the 2 different items and then compare them or do you research that?

i know this is a silly question but is the geo. work in french? (sustainable development)

Larry said...

Monsieur Wanie for the geography assignment do you want us to do research on a near pin point location of where where the food item was grown, or can we just write the country it was imported from, from the label. (organic vs fresh comparison question)
Thanks.

Wow kids! Lots of questions!

Jennifer: No. Think Windex or Bleach.

Larry: Whatever you choose may not fit in all categories. You hit the nail on the head with your observation about schools! To find your nearest hazardous waste disposal place, look in the blue pages in your telephone book or phone 311 and ask. You don't need to pinpoint the location.

Najat: Any new product. Write what you use instead of nasty cleaning products.

Cheyenne: Come in early and ask tomorrow.

Lilly: Come in early and ask tomorrow.

Carol: As recently as last year is fine.

Sarah: Look on it and read the label.

Katie: Read my answer to Larry. And you need to come in early tomorrow to get help on the rest...

Leya: #5 It should say on it, if not, phone 311 and ask or look it up on the net. #4 you need to go out and buy something, a couple of apples for instance. Yes it needs to be in French.

Maya: Come in early and ask tomorrow.

Michelle: Come in early and ask tomorrow. PS Gee, thanks!

Monsieur Wanie can you please answer as much as you can on the blog about Katie's question of what viable, bearable and sustainable means. I'll still come early tomorrow morning, but I have some other stuff I need help with too, and I don't want to risk not being able to finish on time.

wow. call 311. lol. dont think my mum will let me call 311. the last time my mum called, we got a hold of them after about 5 hrs or more. cant remember. and buy the apples. aaaaaa its 7. dont know how im gonna do that. well. ill try my best. im coming in early. ill come really early. well not that early. but you know what i mean.

For the 'name a new product that recently..' question; will electronics do?

also to find our nearest facility waste location, can we try using google maps. or it cant trusted?

Mr.Wanie i know its late but i was wondering if i can get a extension on the sustainable for the sustainable development? I'm having problems founding a significant building that fits into the venn-diagram.

Mr.Wanie. May I have an extension on the sustainable development please? I need just a bit more time. Thanks.

for question 5: when naming an alternative does it have to be the same brand?
ex. palmolive dishwasher
alternative: palmolive eco+ dishwashing detergent lemon splash

or can it be from a different brand:
ex. alibi-air freshener alternative: (product from windex)

sorry if my questions are overflowing but its really confusing. im asking these questions so they can help me finish my work.

Mr. Wanie,
Mia can't access her Gmail account so I am posting her question for her to you:
She would like to know if she can get and extension on the geo assignment. Also, she would like to know if for the 2nd part of question 5, you can put regualr things i.e. vinegar- or if you want products i.e. Ecomax.
Thanks!

Nevermind Mr.Wanie I don't need an extension. I managed to FINALLY finish it. Thanks anyway!

I've already written about alkaline batteries and old dry paint and some alternatives to that (thinking u wouldn't respond). Is that okay?

Thanks Najat 8/7
