Today, students only had a few periods of homeroom to work on their "Histoire" due Friday.
A reminder to students, that Pool is an integral part of the phys-ed program at Winona. Please remember to bring your swim stuff to school so you don't lose marks and sit on the deck uselessly!

Monsieur Wanie, for question#2 in mots clés, what else is plural and makes sense for the second space? I can't find another mot clé that makes sense except for délégués.
Hi Christine: I'm afraid I don't have the textbook at home, I can help you tomorrow morning before 8:30.
btw christine, in the last 2 comments of the second last post le solieil et le vent monsieur wanie said it's okay to use a keyword more then once.
Also, does any one know for Histoire Chapitre 3 if it was Canada-Ouest or Canada-Est that had more people?
Monsieur Wanie, where was the location in which the fenians attacked the british?
In chapitre 3, Canada-ouest had more people
thx christine

#m.wanie or anyone else can you please post a link that would help with finding demographic trends? thank you in advance.
Here is where I found it.
http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/91513/Canada/43287/Demographic-trends
Hey Kids: Wow, you are really doing well at helping each other out! Great stuff! Just a point regarding current demographic trends: In Canada, our aging population is certainly at the top of the list of most important current trends. Many more Canadians are of retirement age than are entering the workforce. The problem with this trend is that there is a important need for "working people". A "labour shortage" means that there are many jobs available but not enough workers to fill the positions... This could lead to problems ranging from inability to provide pension payments to more expensive labour rates for plumbing and electrical repairs...
M.Wanie for question 9 where you have to “Draw a picture to illustrate at least four jobs that may be created as a result of the social trend, in which more people are enjoying outdoor activities” can you divide the page into four to show a picture for each job or does it have to be part of one big picture?
Also M.Wanie, can my scenario for Question 6 be longer then 20 lines?
because it's 36 lines long
Eric, you're on the right track on all counts, go for it!
M.Wanie for question number 8 where you have to "Look at the labels on your clothes. Find out where they were made. Draw the item of clothing on the country of it's origin, on a outlined map of the world." can I draw the clothes in the oceans and draw a line to what country they were made in and say underneath the article of clothing what country it was made in?
In regards to Eric, Mr Wanie said we are allowed to just make sure it has a label pointing to the country
thanks alex
m.wanie, for the title page for the book report what exactly do we have to include?

m.wanie, in regards to question number 2 ATC where you have to "Explain why the people of Newfoundland and Labrador rejected Confederation in 1869" how big where the "hameaux isole" on the coast?
Hey, thanks Alex and Christine, thanks for helping Eric out.
Eric: The isolated hamlets (Hameaux isoles) typically had anywhere form a couple hundred to a couple thousand inhabitants. The entire population of Newfoundland and Labrador was around 160,000 in the early 1860s... Compare that to Canada West that had a population of around 1,396,000!
Thx m.wanie
for geo #3 what do we have to do
I don't exactly understand why Newfoundland and Labrador rejected Confederation in 1869. Can anyone help explain it to me?
they also didnt really visit each other so they couldn't really choose a representitive
hows life everybody
M.Wanie what is the short form for British Columbia in French
answer my question eric
which one, the first one or the last?????
Jake: I removed one of your comments. Harsh language will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Alex: Newfoundland and Labrador refused Confederation in a large part because the small hamlets around the coast were hardly unified as a colony, let alone as something larger. The inhabitants saw no advantage to joining Confederation. Relying of fishing, they were pretty self-sufficient.
Eric: La Colombie Britannique- CB
M. Wanie for the history project, number 4 VTC where you have to "use a chart to compare and contrast the reasons why BC and PEI joined Confederation. Are these reasons more similar or dissimilar?" for my Venn diagram can I write the reasons why BC and PEI joined Confederation in their respective circles and then write the reasons that are the same in the middle?
Eric, the reasons are more dissimilar. Your Venn diagram sounds cool.
I need help with question 2 for histoir
I've been looking for some answers on the internet and I'm finding nothing
Which one?
Julian: I'm assuming you're referring to the question about why Newfoundland and Labrador only joined confederation in 1949? If so: between 1867 and 1949, Canada participated in the two World Wars. N&L's contribution to the war effort was important in terms of supplying and outfitting ships for overseas, transferring goods (guns, ammo, planes, boots etc). By the time 1948 rolled around, the colony of N&L was in debt. One way to get out of that was to take up the Federal Government's offer of taking over the debt load if N&L were to join Confederation.
