This morning, students read about "emplacement et position" in their "Geo" textbooks and worked on their comprehension of questions 10 and 13... Monsieur Wanie provided some clarification on these, considerably more difficult, last questions.
Students have not been allowed to sign out textbooks for the last few days given that ten of them have disappeared. Upon their return, Monsieur Wanie will once again allow students to take them home. To make up for this unfortunate situation, several students have taken advantage of the fact that Monsieur Wanie provides time before school for all students to come in and work or get extra help.
In the afternoon, students in both 86 and 87 worked on their "perspective drawing unit", and 86 had some extra time to work on their "through the ages" drawing due Monday.

Cher Monsieur Wanie
Merci for introducing me to the world of blogs!
Can you please provide some more information on the situation with the Geo textbooks for 86 & 87.
I understand there is a problem with some missing books - and I hope that is resolved soon.
However, beyond that I also understand that there aren't enough Geo textbooks for all the students and wonder if there is something that can be done to ensure that students have equal access to the texts that they need for their studies.
Also, will the due date for the Geo assignments to be submitted - Mardi Octobre 13 - be changed because students aren't able to bring the textbooks home to work on the assignment?
Thanks
Catharine Tanner
Madame Tanner, merci pour votre question!
Regarding the textbook situation... At the beginning of the term, we had a class set of 54 textbooks. Students in both 86 and 87 had been allowed to sign out textbooks. Since then, 10 textbooks have gone missing. Now that we have less than the required number of textbooks, students have been barred from signing them out. Re-instating of the signing-out system is dependent on their return.
I am actively engaged in locating a new source for texts to bolster the numbers, however, they seem to be NLA from our previous supplier and exorbitantly priced from another... I have located a possible source for used texts but as of this moment, we're in a holding pattern.
Regarding the due-date, I have made accommodations to my class schedule this week and next to give students more in-class time to use the texts. Students should be able to meet the deadline. If meeting said deadline is an impossibility, it is the student's responsibility to come in early and negotiate for an extension.
I hope this explanation has provided some clarity to the situation.
Cheers,
Andrew Wanie
