Today, students worked on their 5 maps of British North America and Canada.

Lundi, le soleil brille... pour le moment!
En anglais aujourd'hui:
So, today was the due-date for the first "Histoire" assignment of the year. Five or six students came in early to work or ask for extensions. Most students handed-in their assignments. To the few who came to class with less-than-adequate excuses, be careful! As a reminder, if you haven't finished your assignment by the due-date, you need to come in early and discuss it with Monsieur Wanie or risk being marked down...
Students' "Il fait quoi ton Papa?" tests were handed back, students noted their grades in their agendas, and placed the tests in their files in the stickered-filing-cabinet.
As well, students had an opportunity to work on their portrait art posters and their "La peur de ma vie " french reading books.

La premiere semaine de l'annee 2014-2015!
Wow, kids, how fast did that summer go by!?
Anyway, a new year has begun, with two new groups of 8s. Welcome to Monsieur Wanie's World, students!
In class we've been taking care of some paperwork and financial stuff, hopefully everything comes back to Winona correctly filled-out, paid-up, etc, by Friday.
Students have also been working on a "folded-paper assignment". It's a good first activity and an opportunity for Monsieur Wanie to learn about students themselves as well as assess where students are in their French writing abilities... Due tomorrow morning!
In the afternoon, students began reading a short story called "Il fait quoi ton papa?". It's the first of many pieces of French literature students will be using to work on their comprehension skills...
Students in 86 have been asked to bring an English reading book to class tomorrow or borrow one from the library.

Le froid et le vent!
There hasn't been a blog update in a while, here it is. Not very exciting but an update none-the-less:
Reports are coming out soon, February 11th ish. So, students have quite a few assignments to complete in a hurry!
Due this week:
Cartes: Le Continent Africain, L'Amerique du Sud

As well, just a quick note to remind students that all "Histoire" and "Geographie" assignments must include:
-Something that's been said (in other words, something we discussed in class)
-Something that you've read (as in something you found in the textbook)
-Something from the web (like something you researched on a reliable website online)
-Something from your head (so something that shows you can relate your personal experience to what's going on in the "Geo" or "Histoire" programme.
